In our hyperconnected world, our news cycle gets shorter and our information overload becomes overwhelming. We all need some Yin to our Yang. With scientific proof that meditating can help to decrease stress levels, control anxiety and promote better sleep, it’s no wonder that in recent years, meditation apps like Headspace and Calm have grown in popularity. If you’re into mindful meditation, or just prefer a different environment relax and restore, here are our top picks for the best studios and spaces for inner healing and meditation in Singapore.

Space 2b

A gem of a sanctuary found amidst the hustle and bustle of the CBD is Space 2b. Located in a serene Telok Ayer shophouse, the studio is run by a ‘dedicated collective of mindfulness mentors’ who conduct a range of meditation and sound healing classes. We especially love the Crystal Bowls sessions, where you’re encouraged to lay flat as the instructor skillfully makes the Quartz bowls sing. Pure frequency sounds resonate through the body that provide an even more immersive meditative experience, and allow you to emerge feeling deeply relaxed.

Pure Wellness Studio

Located on leafy Duxton Road is Pure Wellness Studio: Singapore’s first dedicated infrared sauna studio. They use state-of-the-art infrared technology that is said to promote a deeper and more relaxing, detoxifying sauna experience. Here, individual cabins fitted with chromotherapy lights where each colour is associated with a different physical and emotional benefit. We like arriving with a meditative podcast playing via our Bluetooth ear pods, and leave feeling rejuvenated inside and out.

Hom Yoga

One of the most recognisable names among yogis in Singapore, Hom Yoga’s bright and beautiful studios emit a sense of calm once you walk through their doors. While all yoga practices promote meditation principles, Hom Yoga’s Yin & Meditation class finishes with a 15-minute seated meditation after a session of gently stretching connective tissues that open up channels of energy and promotes inner healing in the body.

Palm Ave Float Club

A sensory deprivation tank doesn’t immediately scream ‘inner healing’ but restricted environmental stimulation therapy (REST) has been scientifically proven to promote better sleep, provide stress and anxiety relief and aid muscle relaxation. The dark and soundproof pods are a perfect space to slip into a mindful state with zero distractions. Palm Ave Float Club has also recently introduced ‘Altered States’, a series of curated events that aim to “raise inner awareness, uplift spirits and facilitate meaningful conversations.”
