With year-round sunny weather and a generous amount of public holidays dotted throughout the year, Singapore is the ultimate playground for parents and children, and the perfect place for some family bonding. Whether you have a feisty toddler, a curious kid or a moody teen, the city is full of fun indoor and outdoor activities for all. Do check for what the latest restrictions are on social distancing and mask wearing, as Singapore starts to open up again.  Read on for our favourites.

Cycling

The Singapore landscape offers a great network of cycle routes; not all are suitable for kids though. Our top picks include East Coast Park for easy cycling and seaside dining. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park offers the ideal cycling trail for a dose of nature and playgrounds for the kids. The Alexandra Park Connector boasts a beautiful canal-side cycle path that is perhaps the closest we’ll get to Amsterdam this year, but the route is kid friendly and features plenty of dining options.

The Beach

With the hustle and bustle of the city, we very often forget that Singapore is a tropical island with beautiful beaches and family friendly activities on offer. From tandem kayaking to building sand castles, the beach is always a great place for family bonding and a sense of freedom. Sentosa Beach has a bouncy castle in the sea that is meant for both adults and kids and East Coast Beach offers a wide array of water sports activities suited for all ages.

Trampoline Parks

If the outdoors are not your thing, then bounce away your blues at a trampoline park. They’re a great way for parents to fit in a workout and an outlet for kids to let off some pent-up energy. There isn’t a moment of stillness at Bounce Singapore, where you can jump off walls and fly through the air. Got a pre-schooler in the house? KinderGym is equipped with a safe, multi-sensory environment that is specifically designed for kids aged three to five to give them their jumping fix. So go on, get bouncing!

Acres of Nature

Singapore boasts a number of nature parks and trails that offer safe outdoor spaces, fresh air and a positive boost for your mental health. With the Nparks App you can find designated trails and paths with varying levels of difficulty. Remember to carry sunblock and insect repellent and of course loads of snacks — no one wants a hungry child / husband tantrum in the middle of a forest.

Obstacle Courses

It’s time for parents to unleash their inner child at this tree-top course. The Junior Course is designed for those between five to nine years old where mini-adrenaline junkies can go for it on 22 crossings including zip-lines, ladders, swings, nets and tunnels. Parents — your endurance will be tested in the grand obstacle course which consists of 44 obstacles split across three loops. Don’t worry, safety is a priority and briefings are conducted once your kids are strapped in the harness prior to taking on the challenge. Go ahead and unleash your inner monkey with your little monkeys!
