Wellness and self-care has never been so important. Looking after your mind and body allows you to take control and focus on your mental health. Increasingly, the importance of wellbeing is becoming ingrained into our daily activities, from exercise regimes to eating healthier. Often, we escape Singapore to find solace, whether that be on a mini break or to a beautiful holiday retreat. Seeing as we can’t travel far right now, The Soothe has compiled the ultimate wellness itinerary for three tranquil days in Singapore, complete with overnight stays at luxury hotels, wellbeing studios and healthy dining spots for a local holiday 2020.

DAY 1 – Restart & connect

Start the day by connecting with nature on one of Singapore’s hiking trails, whether that’s trekking around MacRitchie Reservoir, hiking up Bukit Timah Hill or venturing around historical Fort Canning. This is the ideal way to kickstart your 72 hours of wellbeing as research has shown that an immersion into nature can reduce stress by reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension and stress hormones.

Post-trek, treat yourself to a wholesome lunch. Healthy eating is on the rise and Singapore is home to a variety of conscious cafes including The Living Café, located close to MacRitchie. Feel good with delicious raw and plant-based cuisine with vibrant dishes created from organic and local produce. Check out the Bowls of Plenty and the vivid Avocado Cucumber Gazpacho.

Continuing to the afternoon, look after your inner self at Singapore’s first dedicated infrared sauna studio at Pure Wellness on Duxton Road. The perfect antidote to your morning hike, the private saunas use infrared lights to balance the body’s energy and tackle all sorts of issues, from muscle recovery to sleep issues.

DAY 2 – Take time for yourself

It’s often been said that yoga is the ideal way to begin your morning. Not only can it improve flexibility but it can help you centre yourself and make intentions for the rest of the day. Singapore boasts some fabulous yoga studios, with classes that get endorphins pumping, muscles stretched and stress levels down.

Fully zen, enjoy breakfast at The Butcher’s Wife. Located on Yong Siak in Tiong Bahru, this bistro offers a balanced yet flavoursome menu which is 100% gluten free and gut friendly.

As travel restrictions are still very much ongoing, staycations are our escape from reality. Capella Singapore, located amidst Sentosa’s greenery, offers guests a luxurious holiday getaway with plenty of wellness activities on offer. Enjoy a meal at either The Knolls or Cassia, chill out by the gorgeous swimming pool or stroll through the grounds and spot some of Sentosa’s peacocks. Not to be missed is a relaxing massage in their much sought after Auriga Spa.

DAY 3 – Unwind and reflect

Before checking out, head for a run along Sentosa’s coastal path or towards Marina Bay Sands. Running has been proven to help clear your mind and curb anxiety. Wind down with your trainers off in Capella’s lush grounds.

To beat the blues of returning to normal life tomorrow, book a class at boutique House of Ascend for a bespoke sound meditation session. Only private bookings for five people at a time are available right now, so get some friends together to join you. Submit to grounding yourself in the present through Gong Meditation and Gong Yin classes that include breathing exercises, aromatherapy and vibrations. Each journey is geared towards connection, allowing you to inwardly reflect, re-align and reinstate yourself back into ‘normal (well, kind of) life’.
