Relaxing spa days at hotels in Singapore

Relax and unwind with a hotel spa day on our Little Red Dot

Text: Livvie B

A weekend jaunt to a Balinese wellness retreat or a hop over to Thailand for an authentic massage treatment don’t look likely for the latter part of 2020. But if you’ve got rest, relaxation and escape on your mind, you could consider a spa day package at a luxury hotel in Singapore instead.

Following the circuit breaker period, hotel spas have gradually reopened with strict social distancing measures in place. Many have been overwhelmed with demand, as Singaporeans seek respite from the WFH grind.

From urban spas in the heart of Orchard Road, to more exotic hideaways on the shores of Sentosa, our Little Red Dot is brimming with beautiful spa destinations guaranteed to take the stress away from Covid life and whisk your mind, body and soul into a whole new world.

While restrictions apply and visitors are kept to a minimum, the hotels each offer welcome respite and the chance for you to wear that bikini you bought especially for the summer holiday that didn’t happen. The Soothe reveal our three favourite day-spa destinations:

Raffles Spa at the Raffles Arcade

Raffles Spa reopened last year following extensive renovations, and the new space is quite simply stunning. Open to hotel guests and members of the public alike, the ultra-luxe interiors are calm and serene, with spacious rooms and elegant finishing touches.

The Raffles Spa philosophy blends traditional and local methodology, and therapists exclusively use products from ISUN and Mikimoto to ensure the ultimate luxe experience. Guests have access to all spa facilities with any 60-minute experience; these include an Aromatic Steam Room, Sauna, Ice Fountain and Vitality Pool.

Each treatment is personalised to the individual guest, and for the ultimate experience, we recommend trying one of the Raffles Spa Journeys, such as the Chakra Deep Sleep Ritual (SGD 525 for 120 minutes). The Ayuverda-inspired treatment includes a gentle Marma back massage, followed by a thermal body wrap to stimulate the free-flow of energy using organic blends of Ayuverda body oil scented with sandalwood, citrus and herbs. A warm oil head treatment rounds of the treatment.

So SPA at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa

Aside from smelling absolutely divine, So SPA made it into our top hotel spa list because of its incredible facilities, which include a Spa Garden and Float Pool, use of which is complimentary for all guests with a one-hour treatment booked. There is also a Jacuzzi and Galaxy Steam Room, so you can really make the most of your time here. We assure you that you’ll leave feeling amazing.

Treatment-wise, you can’t really go wrong, but we’d recommend the ‘Wellness’ signature experience (SGD 290), which combines a Marine Salt and Clay Scrub followed by either The Sentosa massage or the SO Relaxing Massage.

Until 31st December 2020, So SPA is offering a range of ‘Escape to Sofitel SPA’, incorporating access to Spa Garden facilities and dining experiences.

Remède Spa at The St. Regis Singapore

Despite its central location, Remède Spa at The St Regis Singapore truly lives up to its promise of being ‘a world of Their eucalyptus-scented Steam Chambers and Aqua Reflexology Footpath and Spa Gardens make for an all rounded afternoon in this Tanglin spa bolt-hole.

The Warm Vichy Shower Massage (SGD 250) is our go-to: the rejuvenating massage takes place as you lie on a heated marble bed under a Vichy Shower, which gives the sensation of floating. The treatment also includes dry brushing to stimulate skin cells, and a relaxing facial massage to relieve tension.

Until 31st October 2020, Remède Spa is offering a 15% privilege on any detoxification treatment.

Auriga Spa at Capella Singapore

Although it’s only a stone’s throw from the CBD, the act of crossing a bridge to enter Sentosa for a day spa retreat makes it feel like a real getaway. The island vibes are undeniable, especially at Capella Singapore, which is as close as we will get to paradise for a while…

Whilst the entire resort is a haven for peace and tranquillity, Auriga spa is next level: every suite has its own private garden, and guests also have access to a Vitality Pool, Herbal Steam Room and Ice Fountain before or after treatments.

Three of the suites at Auriga are designed to accommodate two people, and Auriga tops our list for couples spa days in Singapore. They also offer a range of couples spa experiences, including the Senja Sunyi Ritual (SGD 718), which incorporates the Signature Senja Sunyi Ritual with Warm Moon Stones; traditional Asian therapies and massage techniques; and Rose Crystal Lympthatic Facial Massages.

At the time of writing, Auriga spa is open to guests of Capella Singapore only, however, SingapoRediscovers vouchers can be used towards stays, which more than justifies indulging in a spa treatment while on the property, right?
