Technology is a double-edged sword; when it’s used for bad it can result in dire consequences, but then the same can be said for the reverse too. Increasingly, we’re seeing technological innovations not only shaping our world but shaping our future and what that could look like. And one area that is truly thriving? The development of eco-friendly apps to help you live a more mindful, sustainable existence and going green in Singapore.

Arguably the hottest topic when it comes to humankind’s collective future is climate change and a sustainable environment. And it’s not enough just to talk about it. While the changes we long for may seem overwhelming, and our own individual actions to make a change may not seem enough, there are ways in which we can create a greener future and protecting the environment by taking responsibility of our behaviour.

Tech developers have created an array of eco-friendly apps that help quantify your daily actions and your environmental impact, with guides on how you can live a more sustainable life. The Soothe rounds up four Singapore-born eco-friendly apps that will help you to go green and achieve sustainable living.

Best for litter management: Stridy

Science shows us the effects of litter are much more significant than just being an eyesore of discarded garbage. Litter accumulation negatively influences the value of our neighborhoods, the biological health of the environment, and the emotional connections we have to the spaces we share with others. Stridy is the litter pick up app that gives you the tools to declutter your world at your pace. The app is also fuelled by data; when you take a picture of each piece of litter you collect, or catalogue your haul, Stridy aggregates this data to better understand the litter landscape of your area. The more discarded trash you collect, the more points you earn reflecting the magnitude of your efforts.
