In 2018, the Singapore Golf Industry Report stated that over 80,000 Singapore residents played golf. Despite the sport’s slow-paced reputation, golf actually brings about a number of health benefits to players. For example, research has shown that golf improves one’s physical health and mental well-being. On top of that, It has been associated with increased life expectancy and improving cardiovascular risk factors.

1.    Sentosa Golf Club Singapore

This renowned golf club has clinched numerous awards since it was first founded in 1974, including being named as the World’s Best Golf Club for the 2019 World Golf Awards. Admire the stunning panoramic view of the South China Sea as you play in 2 of the best golf courses in Singapore – the Serapong course and New Tanjong course. 4.    Warren Golf & Country Club Driving Range

One of the most diverse and absorbing golf course in Singapore, one can find many stylishly bunkered holes, elevated greens and other varieties of terrain to suit every golfers’ needs. This course is an open parkland decorated by an abundance of flora and fauna that makes the landscape picturesque. With the constantly changing back-drop and well-designed holes, this makes for a decent course to visit for all golf players.

5.    Keppel Club

This golf course spans 5,917 metres wide and serves as the go-to place for golfers of all skill levels to visit. It is a hidden gem with over a century worth of rich golfing heritage, and conveniently located near the downtown city area – perfect for city-goers looking to get their tee time. 6.    Seletar Country Club

Seletar Golf Course recently underwent renovation and re-opened in April 2020, unveiling the sparkling new 18-hole groomed course. Its current design reflects a unique British isle flavour that is both environmentally dramatic and incredibly detailed, earning it the “Best Renovated Golf Course in Asia Pacific” title for the 2020 Global Golf Awards. The backdrop of this golf course is the serene Lower Seletar Reservoir. For all who enjoy golfing in tranquil, scenic settings, this is the recommended place for you. 

Green fees: This course is only available for members/members’ guests. $142.31-$219.35 (Weekdays), $161.57-$329.35 (Weekends).

 

7.    Singapore Island Country Club

With a total of 5 courses – the Bukit, Sime, Island, New and 9-hole Millennium, this country club has a total of 81 holes for golfers to play to their hearts’ content. Each course is unique and among the top-rated golf courses in Singapore. If you’re searching for some place that’s more natural and jungle-lined to golf, the Island, New and Millennium courses located within Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve are wonderful choices.

8.    Sembawang Golf Course

Founded by British Marines stationed in Dieppe Barracks, this golf course features a hilly terrain that’s bound to give you a good cardio workout. Though this course is relatively smaller compared to the rest mentioned, it still contains many challenges thanks to the thick jungle and water hazards that flank the tight holes. For this layout, accurate and straight shots tend to fare better for the golfers.

9.    Marina Bay Golf Course

Hone your golfing skills here at Marina Bay Golf Course against the back-drop of our beautiful city skyline. This 18-hole course brims with links-like characteristics, much like the classic courses of Scotland, where golf originates from. The course is excellently maintained and well-presented for a public facility, and although there is a lack of trees around the layout, the extra water hazards certainly make up for it. There are also sand traps planted near just about every hole, which makes it even more difficult for players to complete the holes. 

Green fees: $75 (Weekdays), $120 (Weekends); overseas visitors will be charged more.

 

10. National Service Resort & Country Club

National Service Resort & Country Club's first golf course in Changi opened for play in 1993. The 18-hole championship golf course in Changi actually underwent a major refurbishment and re-opened with more greens, trees, and reshaped bunkers. The parkland layout comprises of 2 challenging nine-hole loops – the Army course and the Navy course.

Green fees: $148.73 (Weekdays), $197.95 (Weekends); SAFRA and NSRCC members receive special discounts.
