Himalayan salt sauna. Cassia seed sauna. Menthol steam room. Myanmar Jade room. When I saw the list of facilities, I knew I had to make a trip down, since I tend to seek novelty quite often. The experience is worthwhile, with so many saunas and steam rooms to choose from, at a flat-fee of $38 for 3 hours and $58 for a one-day pass. I felt much calmer and relaxed after lying on the cooling Myanmar jade beds. If you have time, you should try the Signature H-stone Massage which comprises of a foot soak, a hydrating facial mask, hand and arm massage, foot massage, back and shoulder massage as well as hot stone therapy at only $201.16, inclusive of GST.

The Silk bath made my skin feel smooth and supple and the Jet bath felt like a gentle massage, helping me to melt the stress away. Occasionally, Yunomori will introduce new onsen types such as the Koshihikari Rice Bath or the Japanese Sakura bath.

8. Joya Onsen Cafe

As the new kid on the block, how does Joya Onsen Cafe, nestled in the outskirts of Jurong, match up to its contenders? They are very competitively priced, provided that you are looking for a no-frills experience. Their day pass costs $41.80 for adults, inclusive of a yukata, a green tea infused onsen tea bath and a sauna. Top up just $7 for a refreshment set which includes a drink, a small main dish and a dessert choice. I enjoyed their nourishing Matcha Hokkaido milk as well as their cooling and refreshing Ichigo San, filled with cornflakes, blueberries and strawberries.
